Scion is in the midst of a number of campaigns designed to show appreciation to America’s servicemen and women for their bravery and patriotism. The programs offer everything from rebates on new Scion vehicles to care packages for troops, to on-base entertainment options not normally available to our military members.
Last year, Toyota Financial Services (TFS) and Scion began offering qualified U.S. Military a $1,000 rebate toward the purchase or lease of any new Scion vehicle. Members of America’s armed forces with current active duty status may qualify for a $1,000 rebate towards the purchase or lease of a new Scion when financed or leased through a participating Scion dealer and Toyota Financial Services (TFS).
Eligible customers must be on current active duty status in the U.S. Military, provide verifiable proof of military status or active service at the time of purchase, and receive a salary sufficient to cover ordinary living expenses and vehicle payments. The Scion Military Rebate Program runs until March 31, 2010.
Scion is also offering free Scion Care Packages to service members stationed both at home and abroad. The boxes of Scion gear includes swag like beanies, a deck of cards and a complimentary hour of internet access -- exclusively for U.S. Military personnel only. Servicemen and women can register for a Scion Care Package at www.scion.com/militarycarepackage/; only one care package per person, and availability is limited.
Scion is currently in the middle of a month-long program at historic Fort Campbell in Kentucky, providing soldiers with a series of entertainment alternatives. To support U.S. troops, Scion is working closely with the Army’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Commercial Sponsorship Unit.
Thus far, Scion has hosted a Super Bowl Party for single soldiers and arranged for a special Scion car show at the base. At both events, visiting servicemen and servicewomen received gift bags and information about how Scion is supporting the military. Scion was also at the fort for a Newcomers’ Orientation, where newly sworn-in soldiers received gift bags.
“We’ve enjoyed hosting many of the fine servicemen and servicewomen at Fort Campbell,” said Julie Hoermle, Regional Scion Manager at the Cincinnati-based sales office of Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. “This facility is an active hub for frequent deployments to and from the Middle East and we can’t thank these soldiers enough for their bravery and patriotism.”
