A PICTURE'S WORTH
Scion interactive program lets readers listen, rate and review music featured in Death+Taxes
Scion, Mobot and Death+Taxes Magazine have partnered to create a one-of-a-kind reader experience that merges print and new media. In the November/December issue of Death+Taxes, readers will be able to use their personal mobile devices to launch exclusive technology that will create an interactive art experience like no other.
For the November/December issue of D+T, on newsstands now, editorial will be peppered with hi-tech photo icons that are loaded with exclusive digital content that readers can access by a simple point-and-click method with the use of their mobile phone devices. After the icon is photographed and sent via text/email to a designated number/email address, the delivery of the exclusive content is triggered and sent directly to readers' phones.
Technology linking content to mobile devices by way of a simple, straightforward text or even a 2D bar code programmed to trigger a fixed response presently exists in the marketplace today. Being able to facilitate a dialogue initiated by the user through the simple act of taking a picture where the reply is thoughtful and relevant to that conversation, however, is an industry first.
Exclusive content includes a song written for the issue by No Age as well as behind-the-scenes footage of the Jay Reatard cover shoot. Additional artists featured are Sufjan Stevens, Air and Wild Beasts.
Death+Taxes is a New York-based, national media company that focuses on providing readers with the editorial covering cutting-edge music, politics, photography, fashion and pop culture.
