Scion partners with Roman Coppola for exclusive online series

Scion and digital agency WhittmanHart Interactive have teamed up with director Roman Coppola and his production company, The Director's Bureau, to create "The Fist of Oblivion," an exclusive video series produced for Scion Broadband. The multi-part live-action online serial features kung fu-fighting puppets and will debut on Scion Broadband (www.scion.com/broadband) in November, with new episodes launching every Tuesday through the end of December.

WhittmanHart Interactive worked with Scion to first create Scion Broadband, and followed it up by presenting "The Fist of Oblivion" project to Scion. Of the unique endeavor, Scion interactive manager Adrian Si comments, "Scion Broadband is a laboratory of experimentation for our brand. To keep it fresh, we look for innovative and edgy content like ‘The Fist of Oblivion' that will resonate with our audience and stay true to the culture of the brand."

Coppola, who directs both film and music videos, saw an exceptional opportunity to dig into new forms of media through the project. "When Scion Broadband invited me to be involved with them, I thought it would be the perfect home for ‘The Fist of Oblivion,' a kung-fu, action puppet show that I've wanted to produce for some time."

Scion Broadband offers multiple entertainment channels including "Easy 10," featuring films from emerging directors; "Music," with live shows, music videos and documentaries; and "Radio 17" with 17 channels of hosted music and interviews. A channel called "The Skinny" includes interviews, art shows and music events from performers such as Talib Kwali, Ghostface, Jazzy Jeff, Masters at Work and Kruder & Dorfmeister.
